Online store now ready to take orders!!!!

Well, we now have a fully functional online store and we would love to hear what you think of it.

We are currently reviewing the pricing on our Essential Oils. Believe it or not... the Accounting Dept. thinks we should "LOWER" the price on some oils. I never thought I would hear those words coming from a Scottish Dragon, but I guess it is really the right thing to do. We have been really fortunate to have found several really good suppliers who keep their quality high and their prices very reasonable. Watch for some great new pricing on our essential oils in the very near future.

We also have several new products in various stages of development. I hope to be able to tell you more about them very soon.

Be sure to check the new store often.... New Products will be added weekly.

Dragons 101

To continue on with our discussion on Dragons I would now like to give you a little information about "Ethics" in the Dragon world.

There are some very large leather bound books that contain the Laws of the Dragons - otherwise known as the Draconian Laws.

Since it is a very in depth book that has been updated continuously for the past several thousand years, we will only be touching on the basic laws at this time. If any of you would like to pursue the topic further you can always check with Uncle Argyle as he loves to an opportunity to hear himself talk - oopps... I mean teach.

Draconian Laws:

"Be Ethical at all times" is the first Draconian Law. It means that a Dragon must act ethically at all times - with other Dragons. We take this very seriously as it is the first Law. If a Dragon is accused of acting un-ethically then it is reported to their Mother immediately. She will then deal with the issue in the way only a true 'Dragon Lady" can. There are very few repeat offences.
Do not bite and/or eat your neighbours or their offspring without permission. Arguments and disputes must be settled by an uninvolved third party. Once both sides have an opportunity to state their case, the uninvolved third party will decide the winner and the fine/punishment of the loser. If so ordered, the loser can then be bitten or eaten depending upon the verdict.
Territorial disputes must be heard by the Draconian Council as they maintain the territorial maps. The council meets regularly every 200 hundred years and will hear any disputes registered by the start of the meeting. The meetings can run from several days to a month or more in length depending upon the number of disputes and the amount of testimony to be given.

Those are the first 3 laws and the most important by most standards. I will continue our look into Dragons 101 in my next instalment.

Tis the "Year of the Dragon.

First of all I want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year and welcome to the "Year of the Dragon".

Most of you know what a Dragon looks like, but do you have any idea of what things are important to a Dragon? What do you know about their culture, beliefs, traditions???

Well, if you want to be able to have a Happy and Prosperous New Year I suggest you learn a thing or two about Dragons since this year is all about the 'Draconic Influence" (doesn't that sound dramatic).

Dragons 101.

Dragons do NOT like rules or being told that they are wrong. They don't mind constructive criticism but do not forget that Dragons have a temper.. and very short fuses.
Dragons are very ambitious. They are always involved in several different projects all at the same time. The amazing part is that they can keep all of the projects on track and they do get 'stuff done!".
Dragons are always passionate about their work. It is the passion that keeps them going and fuels their fire.
Dragons love to help others, in fact they often help without anyone else knowing about it. They often never receive any recognition for their contributions nor any thanks, but they keep doing it anyway. Why? Because it is the right thing to do.
Dragons have ethics!!! Lots of them. Doing the "Right Thing" is very important but it must also be done for the "Right Reason". There are several layers of ethics in the Dragon world. Watch for future blogs were we can explore the "Mind of the Dragon" more.

Avalon Alchemy's New Look

Well, the newly redesigned website is finally ready to meet it's public. It took a lot of work from everyone involved to be able to bring this all together. The Online Store is still under construction. Watch for future announcements about out newly redesigned "Virtual Store"

Be sure to check out the new "Correspondence Tables" we have setup for the Incense and Oils. Hopefully they will help everyone to find exactly what you are looking for quickly and easily.

Scooter - The Wheels of the Operation!

Scooter holds one of the most important positions in the entire company. Without him I don't see how any one would ever be able to find a thing. He knows exactly where everything is at all times. How do I know this??? Did Scooter brag about his abilities? No, no... I just observe the day to day activities and then make my judgement calls.

I will just give you a little bit of background and I am sure that you will agree with my assessment.

The name "Scooter" is heard at least 30 times a day - every day!!!
Whenever Scooter makes a personal appearance in the office there is an immediate mob formed around him... all of them calling his name!!!
Whenever he is not in the office and anyone has a question the usual response heard is "Ask Scooter"

So, you can now see how much everyone else depends upon him. That must make his job one of the most important or he would not be in such great demand on a daily basis.

Come to think of it, Scooter was supposed to pick up some new promotional 'Head Shots' I had done. I told him I needed them by yesterday so that I could use one in this blog entry.... Hmmm, where is that boy??? I hear raised voices in the hall.. he must be here. Have to run now....

Correspondence Tables

We realized a little while back that we have so many different kinds of incense now that it is getting a little confusing for our clients. Which one(s) should you pick??? Well, that really depends upon what you want out of it. If you just want a nice scent to fill your room then it is really just a matter of taste or mood for that matter. If you want to get a little more out of your incense then you need to know more about it.... and that is why we are creating the correspondence tables that will give you more of an idea of what the incense could be used for. This is just a guideline that we have cobbled together from several different sources including the manufacturers and several different authors who are very knowledgeable on this topic.

The really nice part of the correspondence tables are that you can sort them with just a click of your mouse. Just click on the heading of any column and it will sort by that column. Since we keep increasing the number of different stick and cone incenses we thought this would be an easy way to be able to find exactly what you are looking for. Increased choice is only helpful when you have additional information... without it you just have more to choose from with no real way to make a decision.

We will be adding the correspondence tables for the Essential Oils and for the Resin Incenses shortly. We hope this information will helpful to YOU, our customers and will make our website into a resource center for you. Please feel free to let us know if there is any other type of information that we can provide for you.

Welcome to our newly redesigned website. Isn't she a looker?

I have to say that I did not have much to do with the redesign, but I did have quite a bit to do with the quality control. You know of course, that it takes someone with very keen eyes and a wicked sharp mind to be able to check that everything is working perfectly.
